Grunge is a zine magazine that publishes the lifestyle of the grunge music scene. It focuses on showing the bands, the music, the fans, and the lifestyle grunge brought to the public in the early 90s. Showing the big bands that made it to the small local small garage bands, showcases how this genre made a huge impact on the people who listen to it and pop culture.
For the logo of this zine, I wanted to create something original, nothing mass-made, individual like the grunge is. Doing research and some feedback I decided to handmade this logo. Using a dried black Sharpie marker and print paper, I decided to go at it then scan them onto my iPad Pro and using the app Procreate to give them more dimension, then lastly uploaded onto Adobe Illustrator and gave it its final look.
The research I did was one I enjoyed. I had a great time looking for images and inspiration and listened to a lot of new bands while doing research. I wanted to catch authentic images of grunge shows, both big bands and small, the fans, the clothes, the posters to help me get the right mood for these spreads.
